Frequently
Asked Questions
Can
I view the latest copy of the Thieves Guild rule book online?
Yes.
You can view the rule book in English, Spanish, and in German.
The rule books will open as PDF files.
Does
a thief have to escape from the Fortress?
No.
A captured thief may roll to escape and if successful may choose
to remain captured and stay in the Fortress. When the thief is ready
to move out of the Fortress he must re-roll his escape attempt.
Do
I have to pick up or take an item I don't want?
No.
But you have to leave it on the game board next to your character.
If there is another character you would like to pass the item to,
they must be in an adjacent space in the city or on the same space
outside of the city. This can be done after sacking a shop or eliminating
another character in combat.
Can
I look at the prices if the Black Market is closed?
No.
It's closed. Shhh
What Black Market?
Where
is the Master Tray?
The
rulebook refers to a "Master Tray". This would be a bin
where you would store all the game tokens. It does not exist at
this time.
I
only have 59 cards, shouldn't I have 60?
Nope,
there are exactly 59 cards, (32 Fates, 24 Black Market and 3 Assassin
cards). Any reference to there being 60 cards was a typo at the manufacturer.
I
don't have enough coin tokens.
In
a 4-player game the number of "1 coin" tokens can get
pretty tight. There are 30 "1 coin" tokens and you will
have 12 left over after giving 6 to each player running a Thieves
Guild. Once you hand out 8 "1 coin " tokens to the Bounty
Hunters, you may only be left with 4 to play with. We recommend
using "5 coin" and "10 coin" tokens whenever
possible to avoid this. When we run short, we use pennies, nickels, and dimes.
Do
you have versions in other languages?
We're
currently experiencing very strong demand for international versions
of Theives Guild and we're working hard to publish different versions.
Check back here periodically for updates.
You can now download the German version here.

hit. A cursed character will receive a -2 to their next die roll
(not including movement).
